You know you need to exercise, right? But the older you get, the harder it seems to do, doesn’t it? But what if you could do a fitness workout that really pays off, that helps you lose inches and also gives you more strength and vitality rather than less? Let me introduce you to T-Tapp, the workout that really works!
I heard about T-Tapp a few years ago when I was entering into the beginnings of menopause. It seemed like out of nowhere I had developed several “inner tubes” around my middle. My joints hurt, I had no flexibility, and I just could not jump up and down any more to the aerobic videos I’d used all my life.
A friend and I were having coffee and as I shared with her my struggle, she told me about a friend who was doing this new exercise called T-Tapp. My friend was amazed at how good our other friend looked in such a short time of doing this new exercise program.
So I had to check it out, and I am SO glad I did! I’ll tell you more about my results, but first I want to introduce you to T-Tapp and what it’s all about.
What Exactly is T-Tapp?
First, T-Tapp has nothing to do with tapping your foot – just to clear that up. But it does have everything to do with moving your body through a sequence of comprehensive movements that will help firm and tone muscles, strengthen your mind to body connection (which we need as we age!), rebuild weak areas in your body, improve mental clarity and hormonal balance, pump your lymphatic system, strengthen bone density, and yes, it definitely helps you lose inches, too!
This summer, I had the opportunity to attend a T-Tapp retreat in Safety Harbor, Fl. We were given new t-shirts, and on the back of the shirt is the best definition you’ll find to explain T-Tapp.
Here’s what Teresa Tapp, fitness expert and creator of T-Tapp, says about it in her book, Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes: Lose Up to 2 Sizes in 4 Weeks with the T-Tapp Workout:
There’s no music in T-Tapp, and despite its name, tap dancing is not part of the workout. T-Tapp is aerobic, yet there is no jumping or running involved – which means no stress on your joints. You won’t lift a single weight, yet you’ll still reap all the benefits of strength training, such as stronger bones and prevention of osteoporosis. That’s because T-Tapp’s focus is on using your own body as the machine.”
The Many Benefits of T-Tapp
Teresa Tapp’s immense knowledge of the body and exercise has come from years of experience, study, and analysis. Over the years, she has worked with cancer patients, pre-and postmenopausal women, successful models, women who needed rehabilitation, and many, many women just like you and me.
Teresa keeps tweaking her movements and continues to learn even as she celebrated her 60th birthday this year. Having seen her in person, I was blown away with her energy level. She never stops!
She has the body and energy of someone half her age. Here is a picture of her and her friend Berei Brandenstein (who turned 90 this year!) in the middle of one of our workouts:
As you can see, T-Tapp definitely keeps you looking young! But there are so many more benefits!
Rather than just copy a list of benefits from the “official” T-Tapp information, I thought I would share with you what actual women who’ve used the program had to say. While at the retreat this summer, everyone who attended had the opportunity, if they wanted, to share how T-Tapp had helped them in their pursuit of being healthy.
Just to encourage you, very few of these women looked like a traditional version of a model. They were all shapes and sizes, each at a different place in their journey to health. But after hearing quite a few stories, I took out my notebook and started writing down all the incredible ways T-Tapp had helped them.
Here’s my list:
- lowered high blood sugar
- lowered high blood pressure
- helped with thyroid problems
- lowered inflammation levels and therefore, joint pain
- more strength and quicker recovery after surgeries
- better posture and body alignment
- greater flexibility
- more energy and stamina
- lots and lots of firming and toning, weight loss, and inch loss
- better body image and more self-confidence
- helped reduce and sometimes eliminate medications
- inspired more motivation that transferred to other parts of life
- helped develop greater perseverance for life in general
- created a mind shift about health and wellness
- and some women even said it saved their lives!
How T-Tapp Has Helped Me
When I started doing T-Tapp, I had an enormous amount of joint pain and lack of flexibility. Over the years, I had managed to twist my lowest lumbar vertebrae several times, resulting in excruciating back pain. This had left my lower back always susceptible to pain when I exerted myself the least little bit.
I had torn the plantar fascia in my left foot which meant my foot was susceptible to pain when walking any distance at all. And my knees and hips just hurt on a regular basis.
Now after doing T-Tapp, I have learned that my body was totally out of alignment. It’s the beautiful thing about this exercise program – it balances whatever is out of balance. I can now bend over to pick up things off the floor with no problem. Squatting to weed a garden bed is no longer something that makes me hurt for days.
My increased flexibility is an incredible, wonderful gift. I feel younger now than I did 10 years ago. If I never lost a pound or another inch, my ability to move without pain is worth every minute I do T-Tapp.
But I have lost inches. Because of my body type (and I will tell you more about body types in another post), I am a turtle when it comes to losing inches. That can be discouraging because we want the extra fat to come off and come off now, right?!
Teresa Tapp recommends you take pictures to document your loss. I know. Who wants to take a picture when you’re just starting out and you want absolutely no one to see what you look like in exercise clothes?!!
But during the times when I have been discouraged about how slow I’m losing inches, I pull out my very first picture and then I can see how far I’ve come. Maybe I’m not where I’d like to be, but I’m thankful for every step I’ve made toward better health.
I’m going to be brave and show you one of my very first pictures and then show you one of my pictures from earlier this year. I chose the back view so you could really see the difference in those “inner tubes” I mentioned earlier.
Yes, T-Tapp is a great way to lose the extra fat you’ve been carrying around too long. But the beauty of Teresa’s philosophy is that you are actually encouraged to give away your scales. Don’t weigh yourself anymore. Your weight means very little at all. You really don’t have to be bound up in numbers anymore!
T-Tapp has the ability to empower you to feel good about yourself and where you are in your journey to health. And Hope Dwellers is all about helping you be all you were created to be – in good health and wellness!
See For Yourself
So if I really want to introduce you to T-Tapp, then you have to see what it’s like for yourself and have the chance to actually do a few movements on your own.
This is a series of 4 short video clips. The first 3 were made a long time ago, but they are some of the best for getting a feel for what T-Tapp is like and how very different it is from any other exercise you’ve done in the past. The 4th video was made just this year, and it includes the testimonial of my friend, Shannon, who got me started!
Here’s a more current clip of the popular movement called Hoe-Downs:

It won’t cost you a penny extra, and it will help me with the cost of operating the blog. It’s a win for both of us! But I guarantee I would tell you about T-Tapp and recommend it if I never earned anything with affiliate sales! I just love T-Tapp and want everyone to experience the benefits!)
Thanks for letting me introduce you to T-Tapp! Just to let you know – I’ve never been an athletic person. To be honest, I don’t particularly even like to exercise. But T-Tapp is a program I can do for life, and you can, too, regardless of your age (just look back up at that picture of Berei who is doing T-Tapp at age 90!). Not only will it help you with inch loss, you’ll be amazed at all the extra benefits it will bring to your body, your mind, and your overall well-being.
I hope you’ll try it soon!
